GST Department seals Mahesh Babu’s (Actor) Bank accounts for not paid service tax 2007-08 - GST NEWS

The Goods and Services tax (GST) department has sealed 2 bank accounts of Telugu film superstar Mahesh Babu. It is alleged that Mahesh Babu has not paid service tax for taxable services on the amount received from advertisements for brand ambassador, acting in films and promotion of products during 2007-08. After this, the GST department has attached Babu's Axis Bank and ICICI Bank accounts for a sum of Rs 73.5 lakh on Thursday, which includes taxes, interest and fines.

When contacted, a senior GST official said that Mahesh Babu has not received any relief from the Appellate Authority regarding this. The official said, "We have attached the bank accounts and started recovery. Today we got 42 lakh rupees from Axis Bank. ICICI Bank will pay on Friday (December 28). "
