GST Intelligence Officer Gets President's Medal - GST NEWS
Senior intelligence officer of Directorate General of GSTIntelligence (DGGI), Rakesh Bhargava, Ludhiana zonal unit has been nominated for the prestigious President's medal for specially distinguished record of service. As per a notification issued by Department of Revenue, Government of India and Bhargava was awarded on the eve of Republic
Day. A medal along with an appreciation certificate was presented to the officer in a ceremony organised in New Delhi.
Rakesh Bhargava joined the Central Excise and Customs department in the year 1990 as an inspector and currently working as senior intelligence officer in GST Intelligence since February 2015. The officer has played prominent role in detection of Central Excise/Service Tax/ GST cases involving revenue of more than Rs 200 crore in DGGI and recovered Rs 100 crore of revenue.
Bharagva also played a vital role in cracking the biggest fraud of issuing fake invoices by iron & steel traders and arrested three masterminds involved in the scam.
