E Way Bill will not Generate, If GST Returns not filled up to Six months - GST NEWS

Now the non-filing of returns for GST returns for six months can be expensive to the traders. According to a government official, GSTN is developing information and technology system, which will not allow e-bills to be generated by traders who do not file GST returns for six consecutive months.

An official said, "If the non-filing of GST returns for six consecutive months, the e-bill will start functioning as soon as the system is stopped, the new rules will be issued."

Officials believe that this step will help in controlling GST theft. In the period of April-December, 3,626 cases of violation of GST evasion / GST rules have been brought before Central tax officials.

Under the measures to prevent tax evasion, the E-WAY bill system was implemented on April 1, 2018 for inter-state transport of goods worth more than Rs. 50 thousand. The same system was implemented on 15th April, 2018 to bring the goods worth more than Rs. 50 thousand rupees within the states.

If GST inspector e-bills are demanding during the carriage of goods worth more than 50 thousand rupees, then it is mandatory to show it. Officials believe that strict rules have to be enforced in order to increase revenue and increase the compliance of tax laws.

For this, the revenue department is working on connecting the e-way bill system with the FASTag mechanism of NHAI. Fastag Mechanism was launched in April to help track the transport of goods.

Actually, the investigating officers were informed that some transporters are making multiple trips by generating a single e-bill. Not only connecting the e-way bill with Fastgag will help in locating the location of vehicles, but it will also know how many times it crosses NHAI toll plaza.
