GST rate cut: Here's what's cheaper Times of India NEW DELHI: In a relief for common man, the GST Council on Saturday slashed rates on a range of daily-use products including refrigerators, washing machine, perfumes and cosmetics. The council also conceded to the long-pending demand of exempting sanitary napkins from GST. Here are items that are set to get cheaper:  Items exempted from GST Sanitary pads Rakhis, without precious material like gold, silver etc Marbles, stone or wood deities Raw material used in brooms Fortified milk Saal leaves GST slashed from 28% to 18% Washing machine  Refrigerators, Freezers TVs up to 68cm Video games Vacuum cleaners Trailers Mixer grinders Shavers & Hair driers Water cooler Storage water heaters Lithium iron batteries Electric iron Perfumes Cosmetics Paint GST slashed to 5% Handicraft items Ethanol Ebooks Handbags Bamboo flooring Jewellery box Wooden box for paintings Artware of glass Stone endeavour Ornamental framed mirrors Handmade lamps
